Mason Kass Hoffenberg (December 1922 – 1 June 1986) was an American writer best known for having written the satiric novel Candy in collaboration with Terry Southern.
Hoffenberg was born in New York City into a wealthy Jewish family. His father, Isidore Hoffenberg, was a successful self-made businessman. Sent to a military academy, he dropped out, but later attended Olivet College.[1]
